We are currently transferring Learnfinnish.org to Google sites. We have abandoned full-fledged learning management systems such as MOODLE, CHAMILO,DOKEOS etc. because these tools are difficulty to maintain by a simple association. With Google hosted service, no worries about updating of the CMS and security issues (on previous site, Learnfinnish.org was hacked twice).

Another important reason for choosing Google service is that Learnfinnish.org wants to be the largest source of information for learning Finnish as second language. To this end, Google sites offers the greatest advantage. With one Google account, a learner has a host of tools provided by Google such as Google Doc, Gmail, etc.

Aware that Google sites does not offer virtual classroom,  we will find a hosted course management system with social networking.
